AO Enriched Quotes, Invoices & Itineraries
The quote is an example of the first page of the output that customers receive in Flight Centre travel agent shops when they request a quote for a flight.
The rationale for implementing this project was that Flight Centre were concerned at the missed opportunities for add-on sales (to flights) that walk-in customers to the travel shops were not being presented with. i.e. customers would come in to the shops, ask for a quote, be given a plain sheet with several flight options and then the customer would walk out without there necessarily being any magnet to bring them back again - other than price (if it could be beaten at another travel agent).
The system has been implemented, analyses the quote from the travel booking system, pulls out appropriate information (copy, images, prices) about hotel offers, transfers, tours, hot-tips and places to visit, restaurants, visa / passport / travel health & safety and other useful information for the stop-over(s) and final destination and produces an attractive, branded, document for the quote and then, if the quote proceeds to a sale, the invoice and itinerary with appropriate info either dropped out or augmented depending on business rules. It's significant that the sales consultants don't have to search and select for add-on products to appear in the quotes, invoices or itineraries. It's all automatic and enables the consultants to actually focus on additional sales opportunities and also all the sales and additional travel related information which may not be available even in the system.
This is also part of a larger project to present a broader travel shopping experience and to meet the needs of all parts of the travel experience cycle; from dream to return trips.
The system has been tested on-site with up to 1,200 simultaneous different quotes being produced in over 1,000 stores.
Sets of standard, point of sale templates can be created in any page layout application and stored in the AO Campaign system as PDFs. They can also be created with a command-line process. These templates contain the basic background shapes and brand colours; the fixed, page layout items. Product / marketing managers can input, edit, update product information completely independently of the layouts and then literally, with the click of a button, create the final printable PDFs.
During the PDF production process, rules are applied according to print requirements e.g. shrinking of text to set parameters to fit defined areas, minimum legal text size for certain specifications, positioning of images depending upon number and ranking.
This module can also be used to create printable labeling and ticketing or for delivery to digital point-of-sale display. Prices can be imported from inventory and pricing systems or from product managers Excel sheets for last minute pricing and promotions.
AO eBrochure & AO ecatalog
Basic templates of the brochure and / or catalog are designed in any page make-up application and converted to PDFs which are stored in the AO Campaign system.
On-line customers can build a brochure / catalog shopping basket on the web site by defining what products and services they are interested in. When the customer checks out of the brochure request function, the system extracts all the up-to-date product data / content and automatically inserts it into the standard, branded templates. The various intro and outro pages e.g. T&Cs, are then automatically and dynamically stitched together into a brochure / catalog and can be delivered on-line or as an e-mail attachment.
Rules can be applied to control how text is displayed e.g. tick-box data, drop-down menu items and abbreviations can all be rendered in user-friendly English and can be strung together to make readable feature lists and missing features can be dropped from the e-publication.
AO Price Tariffs
Product data, availability / periods, prices and any other relevant information is imported into AO Campaign in bulk from back-end inventory, booking and pricing systems. This data is then manipulated and rationalised into a suitable format according to user definable rules and is output as a PDF price brochure / list with page references to where products appear in marketing and other sales collateral.
The complete production process is fully automatic.
The price publication is then made available to re-sellers for downloading from the supplier’s web site.

AO Customer Documentation
Health & safety, various certification documents, insurance and other customer documentation e.g. ATOL Cerificates, can also be automatically generated from the AO Campaign system incorporating standard documentation wording and specific customer relevant data.
